I myself am stuck in the "sand" lately.... choosing the wrong contender to win.....this is my first contest ever and my goal right now is to survive and finish strong.

I was at Monmouth yesterday and that maiden winner KOMBAT CAT cost me a series of bets....looking back it made sense...bad wagering on my part. Best thing was that just before the race was to go off my friend lets me know that he knows some of the owners in the syndicate for that horse and they were informed by the trainer said he was sending the horse to the lead ( always dangerous at Monmouth especially i short fields...the earlier Stakes on the card was testament to that) to see how she would do ...gate opened and the race was over before after the 1st quarter.

Your other winner JOYA REAL used in the tri a few times with the 9 and 11 who were the other logical choices.

Good luck the rest of the way.
Sounds like you had one of those frustrating days at the track..Never been to Mth...been to Atlantic City (casinos) dozens of times over the years but never made it to AC or Mth track...have 3 net friends that live in NJ and met one some years back..Caesars was my house of choice...Don't want to one-up you but to quote an old First Sgt i played poker with upon hearing me complain about losing with a full house to guy that had straight flush,"whatever happened to you happened TWICE to me"..
Nice chatting but i still can't access the site..assume they will cancel contest for today...good luck everywhere..

Just got the site up 10 mins ago...too late of course...sent them an email and asked if today's contest would be cancelled...no reply yet
First contest race was a bomb, would have missed that one anyway

Hi big run

Sent the same email. It figures......The first race at first look, smoking Gracie looked obvious but then when you see all the speed in the race the first race winner was actually going to be my play because he appeared to be the best closer. Aside from that, I only had the 2nd horse in the last race,

Is tomorrow the last day?

. Monmouth is my home track an i have been going there for over 35 years .....0i love to spend an afternoon outside there....said to see the politicians trying to kill it. Regarding AC Race Course, I loved to go there on a Friday or Saturday night and bet the ponies.....it had on of the best turf courses in the country and saw many a UN handicap and Matchmaker there.....sorry for it demise.

Regarding yesterday, it was a grind it out day I was always a photo or a place away from a big day. I actually was able save my "bacon" with a $3 late p3 at Saratoga that got me back around $550.....thank you Alpha.....if only Jackson Bend could have gotten up it would have been a huge day.........woulda...coulda....shoulda:rolleyes

Yeah, i got a million of them two..been hitting the tracks and otb's bout 50 years...How bout DQ's? I'm up on them over the years..most notable was a race few years back at Calder and in the tri my numbers finished 1-2-4..OBJECTION on the 3rd finisher...yeah, they rip him down and put me up, nice tri about 4 c-notes...and one nite at the Meadowlands t-breds, my horse finished third in a tight stretch battle..looked like the jock stiffed him.
Objection on the first two finishers and they put my number up first
I had the ex in that one decent payoff...first time i ever saw them rip the first two..
