I daresay you won't feel this way come Sept 2007. Drew walked away, so maybe they're gonna take the gamble that he'll hold up better than Drew. Team chemistry-wise...it's a winner. Add Pierres' 9mil a year and they're still only 5-6 more than last year. It'll all work out.

Was he healthy against the Mets in the playoffs? I don't get it.You know very well his injury history. You must use some of this money on somebody in case he gets hurt.If this was a smart organization, they would give him a base salary of 5 or 6 million a year, and then pay him for each game he plays. It is not his fault he gets hurt, but it is not the organization's fault either. The fair thing is shared risk(which is paying him at a high rate when he is available to play.)Did we learn nothing from Dreifort's pathetic situation. What does this guy own ? Half of Kansas, and pitched very little for us.The Dodger middle relief got their a$$ beat against the Mets. How about some signings there. They have just told every G.M. in the league that they are irresponsible with the club's money. They are gunna be overpaying for every player now(whether traded for or signed by free agency.)They said they needded pitching, but have done nothing but drive up the price they are gunna have to pay for it.Every other G.M. in the league is belly laughing at paying an oft injured guy 18.5/2 years.

They had team chemistry this last year, but you have to have somebody to pitch the g d baseball. It is pathetic to spend 100 mil a year, and f'n rely on g d Tomko n' Sealy to keep a lead.If I see Tomko wearing a Dodger uniform again,I will be unable to control the involuntary puke response.

"Bill Mueller became the highest-paid special assistant to the general manager in Dodgers history Friday when he was forced to retire as a player and joined the front office.
A year ago, Mueller was one of Ned Colletti's first signings, inking a two-year, $9.5 million contract that pays him $4.5 million in 2007, guaranteed whether he plays or not. He was signed to play third base and fill the black hole left by the departure of Adrian Beltre.

But Mueller's already balky right knee broke down in late April and didn't respond to a third operation in early May. The knee is irreparably crippled with arthritis and likely will need to be replaced.
... Mueller played in only 32 games for the Dodgers.."

Scuds: Dodgers were realistically 3 arms short this year and so Little used him too much. What's the deal with you and Muellar? He was a hardnose player before he got hurt,so his year was crap. He made a move upstairs cuz his knee is shot....and the Dodgers don't seem to mind...they're keeping him around!

I don't have a problem with Nomar,or Muellar.I have a problem with piss'n away 8 million or so(Muellar played a total of thirty some odd games..I will be charitable n' say we got 1 mil $ in work for what will end up being 9 mil that we gave him.)Now,we are attempting to repeat the same mistake with Nomar.Won't surprise me one bit if we get just 80 games played for the 18.5 mil/2 year guaranteed contract.)Irritates me when people repeat their mistakes like this. You can not give a guy (with various physical problems)
an 18.5/2 year guaranteed contract.I can not believe this G.M. is this stupid.I have no problem giving the guy this money, but he would have to stay injury free to get it.He has shown he can not avoid injuries. You gotta give him a base salary with incentives.I would not mind him making 15 mil salary+incentives/year if he were healthy enough to play the games. When he gets hurt, what's he gunna say? Sorry? That hip won't hold up.The legs won't hold up.It is an absurd contract.Could easily end up being an expensive bench coach.I will say I fully expect that will happen.I hope for different, but have nothing to base that hope on.HOPE(ALONE ) IS AN IMMATURE EMOTION.

Well, apparently the Pads and Giants aren't gonna stand pat this winter, so the division will be harder to clinch. How about Matthews/Angels deal? If he hits leadoff, does that mean they're shopping Figgie(bad move I think).
