You can argue he didn't do his best running in the Travers and I wouldn't argue much, but his record has been compiled in soft fields with easy trips (other than the Derby). Even the Haskell was kind of soft once Oxbox didn't run well. I think he's a quality miler that can stretch further on talent alone if he gets a soft trip or easy field, but he's not the first horse I've seen that looked like a world beater going 8/9 furlongs against weaker that chucked it in early against a quality field going 10F. Unfortunately for me I held that view before the race but blew the bet.
