If you have a minute could you please explain the whole Turkish situation with The Apache?

I was looking at the SA site and am not understanding why they won't let him compete at Veliefendi just because he had the vaccine.

Figured if anyone here knew it would be you. Thanks.

(Can't wait for Million day).

Basically, Turkey has said anyone vaccinated against African Horse Sickness is not permitted to race in their country. Kinda bogus as they allowed Musir to do it a few years back, but no one seemed to notice cause he was an Aussie-bred, not SAF.

African Horse Sickness is the result of the current export quarantine in SAF which requires horses to do three weeks in Cape Town, then three months at a 1/4-mile oval in Mauritius, before exporting to the EU for a month, then on to a final destination. It's five months of limited training if you send a horse out of SAF to continue its career elsewhere.

Think it's possible he ends up in the Woodbine Mile, now, especially as Wise Dan is likely to pass it.

Thank you very much. I couldn't find an explanation so appreciate it and yes, that would be nice to see him go for the Woodbine Mile.

I don't know if I have seen the Secretariat ever be a better betting race.

One of the stronger Million Cards I have seen (stakes-wise)

I glanced at the races as I printed them last night. Can't wait to dig deeper. This is going to be one fun card to handicap.
