I really believe that it's down to the 4 best teams. I'm still on the anyone but Pittsburgh bandwagon. I'm actually looking forward to the Bruins Pens series, should be excellent. Kings Hawks should be a barn burner too, but I just can't stay up that late for the west coast games. I'm thinking it's LA again this year, soley because of Jonathan Quick. He's ridiculously good.

As far as Torts go, I really think that they were going to bring him back. That was until Hank opened his mouth and made it seem like next year would be his last in NY, because he wouldn't be re-signing with the team after next season. That changed the whole dynamic of the situation and thankfully the front office realized they need Hank a hell of a lot more than Torts. I also think having a viable option such as Lindy Ruff on the market, made the move a lot easier to make (gotta think he's a favorite for the job). I honestly could have went either way on Torts, my gut would have been to let him stay one more year. But it sounds like the players (most notably Hank) were the cause of his demise. I'm not losing sleep either way. But whoever is in there next year is going to have to deal with very high expectations. This is a team that should go very deep into the playoffs.
Pretty much sums up how I feel. It wasn't a slam dunk either way with Torts staying or getting canned, there are arguments for both, but Lundqvist's "we'll see" got the front office shook and Hank signing an extension has to be the #1 priority. I'd like to see Tippett in for an interview but it sounds like Phoenix is trying hard to keep him off the market.

Not sure who you're talking about as being off the board. But I don't see Sather going with a reach here.
I know Ruff was in Buffalo forever, but I just don't think he really ever had the horses to win it all.

meaning they snag some up and coming coach from the AHL or something, ala Dallas Eakins.
Not sure why Tippett would want to leave that lax situation he's in in PHO for all the preasure in the world to win in NYC

paul maurice and marc crawford, gtfoh!!!!

would love love love love if they went for home run and signed Pierre McGuire, and got him out of the broadcasting booth!!!

That might be enough for me to start watching the WNBA.

Ownership situation is up in the air in PHX, his GM can barely go above the salary floor and he'd get to coach for fans that actually give a sh*t about hockey.

I think Joe Sacco could be a good candidate. I know Colorodo didn't set the world on fire, but they play a quick, uptempo style and had his player's respect.

The guy I want already has a job coaching the Flyers. I think he would be the ideal candidate.

this is the guy i don't get, the AVS go out of their way to pull him from obscurity, he did a decent job, yet gets canned b/c the youth movement can only do so much. Was Roy in the waiting when they initially hired Sacco?
b/c i don't hear this guys name ANYWHERE out there

with the way that team is playing Lavy will be available by mid-season this year.

I think Roy is just a cosmetic move to appease the fans. Almost like Messier would be if the Rangers totally bombed this year, failed miserably and the fans were out for blood. There would be nowhere to go but up and he probably wouldn't tarnish his image as the Messiah if things didn't work out. This is a team with some real talent and a realistic chance to go deep next season, it wouldn't be fair to put Messier in a spot like this. Remember what a disaster Bryan Trottier was? Many Rangers fans were happy to see him go down in flames, it would be much harder to swallow if that happened to Mess.

Easy with this cr@p. If you took King Henry off the Rangers they would be contending for the number one pick.

Haven't heard that name in ages - first and only NHL player born in beautiful Pasco County, FL.

Don't ask my why in the world I still have this.. name's tough to make out b/c its been taped over at least 600,000 times:

One more year like this past one and he might be available for you guys.

Series of the playoffs so far was the SJ/LA, imo. Those boys were HITTIN' each other.

Great, great watch this postseason has been. Even though the Flyers got a big jump start on their golf swings.

Ouch.....B's played about as close to a perfect hockey game as has been seen opposite the Pens in a long long time. Boston has actually improved since the playoffs started. Give them credit for game 1, they just dominated.

really think people need to keep in mind the tomas vokoun factor.
guy has never been this far in the playoffs, and he's a plug for the le flour right now, i think the B's expose him big time this series

Kind of think the opposite, people go to sleep not knowing how good Rask is for the B's. He's the reason they stole game 1 in my eyes. He was excellent and got some help from the iron when needed. He outplayed Lundqvist early in that series and is off to another excellent start.

how do they go to sleep?
guy has been the starter all season for the B's, who have been a playoff caliber team all year. He's the one who made Tim Thomas expendable.
Vokoun just got the nod over the flower during the playoffs, and has never really been a low scoring goalie.
The pens might have a 100M offense and defense, but keep in mind they're playing with a back up between the pipes

I agree with this. Vokoun gave up a lot of juicy rebounds in the first two series that didn"t end up in the back of the net. Vokoun is especially bad when the puck gets around his feet. There will be plenty of goals scored in this series.
