Launchpad, 6 years old. His 4th start of the year he'd been pulled up in the first two. Fell to his death at Sedgefield where he had gone off at odds of 50/1.
Ulysse Collonges, 5, at Haydock... Business Mover, 5, at Plumpton... Ironically, 4, also at Plumpton after she'd finished her race (in 5th)... Buffy the Beatle, 5, at Kempton after finishing 5th. His 6th race, he had never hit the board (but had been pulled up in two of his starts). I don't like posting names unless I've confirmed them myself or found them in three other places BUT on another forum people who I believe know what they're talking about list these three... AP Adventure Straight Story Heavenly Prize Like I said if I thought these were inaccurate I wouldn't bother but when people talk about death reports, etc., I just figured there's a pretty good chance...

Brilliant Farm is saddened to inform the public that Justenuffheart, dam of champion filly Dreaming of Anna (MGSW), and Graded stakes winners Justenuffhumor and Lewis Michael, died due to complications of post foaling. In Excess, an Irish-bred son of Siberian Express who became one of the most dominant sires in California, died May 17 at Vessels Stallion Farm at 26. Pensioned in 2011, he died from old age infirmities, according to a press release posted on the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association website. "He was an old man and he’s in a better place," said Vessels farm manager Kevin Dickson. "The last couple of weeks, he just didn’t look like himself." In Excess was buried on the farm next to another late Vessels stallion, Free House, Dickson said. A four-time grade I winner on the track, In Excess went on to sire 18 crops with earnings of more than $44 million, including 56 black-type winners such as Musical Chimes, Romance is Diane, Excessivepleasure, Above Perfection, and future stallions Indian Charlie and Notional . Bred in Ireland by Ahmed Foustok, In Excess’ career began on the grass in England, but his biggest wins were on dirt tracks in New York, where he captured the Suburban, Metropolitan, Woodward, and Whitney handicaps (all gr. I) consecutively in 1991. He earned more than $1.7 million, with 11 wins in 25 starts. Bruce Jackson trained In Excess for owner Jack Munari. "He was a very nice horse; my husband Bruce bought him from England for his owner and raced him in the United States his whole career," Marie Jackson wrote on Facebook. "He also was a great sire. He will surely be missed." In Excess began his stud career at Rancho Why Worry in 1993. He was the Golden State’s leading sire in 2002 and 2003, and leading sire of 2-year-olds in his freshman season of 1996, as well as in 2000, 2002, and 2004. In Excess sired 16 California champions as well as millionaires Texcess and Valentine Dancer. "He was basically dropped off at our front door when Mike Pegram went to Kentucky to try and organize for him to stand at stud there," Scoop Vessels, the late owner of the farm, said in 2003 when explaining how In Excess and Vessells connected. "When In Excess got off the trailer, I fell in love with him. For some reason, I just knew this was the horse for us, so I immediately made a deal over the phone with Mike to purchase half of him."

I) winner who had a successful stud career in Turkey, died May 29 in that country due to the effects of progressive ethmoid hematoma, according to the Turkish Jockey Club. The son of Private Account—Mrs. Jenney, by The Minstrel, was 22. Progressive ethmoid hematoma is a locally destructive mass of nasal passages and paranasal sinuses of uncertain etiology, according to the Merck Veterinary Manual. Trained by Flint S. "Scotty" Schulhofer for Morven Stud Farm, Unaccounted For won two stakes—the Whitney and the 1994 Jim Dandy (gr. II)—and his stakes placings included a second in the Jockey Club Gold Cup and third in the Breeders' Cup Classic (both gr. I). He won or placed in 12 of 17 starts and earned $998,468. After beginning his stud career at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky., Unaccounted For was purchased by the Turkish Jockey Club and began standing in Turkey in 2002. According to The Jockey Club Information Systems, Unaccounted For was the sire of 35 stakes winners, including eight grade/group I winners, and his progeny have earned more than $19.7 million to date. The Turkish Jockey Club reported Unaccounted For's best offspring included Turkish group I winners Mystical Storm and Dervis Aga, as well as the additional graded/group winners Grundlefoot, Quick Tip, Azaraks, Gulengul, Chi, Tenedos, Buenos Aires, My Sea, Don't Stop Me, Attacante, Yurttay, Pasifika, Tonya, Bankroll, Lady Liz, and Midas Touch.

Grade I-Winning Stallion Mecke Euthanized

He was 21. He was euthanized in response to complications due to old age. According to Hidden Springs' owner, Robin Berryhill, Mecke was bred to two mares this season. Bred in Florida by Farnsworth Farm, Mecke is by dual grade III winner Maudlin, out of the Baldski mare Beautiful Bid. Among his career highlights are victories in the Early Times Turf Classic and Arlington Million Stakes (both gr. IT); and the Isle of Capri Super Derby (gr. I) on dirt, in which he equaled the Louisiana Downs track record for 10 furlongs in 2:00.34. Raced by James Lewis Jr. and trained Emanuel Tortora, Mecke was named Florida's champion 3-year-old colt in 1995 and champion grass horse in 1996. Equally successful on the turf as he was on the dirt, his 12 wins were evenly split between the two surfaces. Five of his black-type scores came on turf, while four were on dirt. Mecke's career record stood at 12-7-9 from his 40 starts, for earnings of $2,470,550. Mecke first stood at Ocala Stud Farm in Florida from 1997-2008, after which he was moved to Tennessee, where he was the leading sire consecutively from 2008-2011. He moved to Hidden Springs Farm in Indiana in 2012, where he has been among the leading sires. As a stallion, Mecke has sired 14 stakes winners including graded stakes winners Mountain Range and Magic Mecke; Puerto Rico's 2007 champion 3-year-old filly Mecke Daughter; and millionaire Supah Blitz, who currently stands in Arizona.
