In more everyday circumstances, you need to be aware of horses in a particular barn and track the works. When you compare worktabs and see pairs that have drilled the same day and same distance repeatedly, there's a likelihood that they were in company regularly -- but it's still not guaranteed. Additionally, workout services like Andy Harrington's National Turf will note who was in with whom. Otherwise, it's a tricky area.
