I can't believe I am trumpeting the merits of a 1/5 shot on paper, but I'm just trying to figure out who the alternative is. Aren't there much better races to try and best the favorite this weekend? |

Crown Polis is the only logical alternative, but he has been through the Ziadie and Vazquez machines and will now have to duplicate a career best effort in just 3 weeks? Not for me. |

Yep. Almost 700k in the pool. The best case scenario for the DD is $2.80 for a buck. The winner of the Special paid $3.20. $10 to win in the first leg gives you $16 to put on Orb so a parlay at 1/2 pays $24.

I hope Orb wins, I think he'll win (hell I think he'll win the TC but will only say that this one time and wait till after the Preakness to get all excited) but I had to do the DD with these two just incase. It was too good to pass up.
Agree with Clip Clop... the Dixie looks like a great betting race. Nice to see Forte Dei Marmi entered as there wasn't much news after he was pulled up that last time out. |

I heard that as well but couldn't find any confirmation online. Will handicap it as if that's the case.

Nice call on Denver in the first round also. You came in all smug, told me how good they were. Never said another word about it? Good luck tomorrow. |

Just heard Eddie Altchek (sp?) on NBC Sports say there are tight turns about Pimlico. Everybody do a shot. Ok he just did it a 3rd time when picking Departing. Someone tell the man it's how the turns are banked not how tight they are.

I saw an article yesterday where Doug O'Neill was quoted saying the turns are tight at Pimlico as well. I find it incredible that someone like him does not know the truth.

Seriously? Geez. At least NBC Sports' research team couldn't let it slide. They came back from commercial and were like oh goody, perfect opportunity to show that thing we'd already put together to talk about at some point. Jerry and Laffit didn't want to embarrass the guy before.
