Welsch talked to Pletcher Thursday and was told they wouldn't go Derby with Capo Bastone if were to win the Trial. Also said Winning Cause is highly unlikely for Derby too.

Wednesday. Philosophy is that if you don't arrive early, arrive as close to the race as possible. There aren't any other UK-based Coolmore runners coming.

Carving was 6th beaten 12 lengths behind Hear the Ghost at 31/1 odds in the San Felipe last time out. Two starts back, he was 4th beaten 7 lengths at Golden Gate.

The horse hasn't raced in almost two months.

There's nothing to hear as Barnes has been trying to get him going. He's quite visible out there on the track hobbling around and we've been discussing it daily on ATR with Mike Welsch. He's struggling. Had one better day earlier in the week and then back in the other direction. Baffert should be out tomorrow and will have to see if they can pull him together.
