You can make a pretty good argument that Normandy Invasion hasn't outrun much more than a goat as well. In his maiden score the horses he beat are 1 for 32 with the lone win on the turf three weeks ago. And not a single horse from the Remsen has won a race since with most failing pretty miserably.

Even though the breakaway top 3 from the Remsen all performed lousy first off of the layoff, I have no doubts that it was a good race.

Normandy Invasion might not have beat much, but he's a good horse and he's got a shot in the Wood. I think he's the kind of horse, along with Orb and Revolutionary who are the prototype of horses who finish 3rd, 4th, and 5th in a lot of Derby's.
