Let me start by saying I am very biased on this topic. First, I am a monster fan of Migliore, both personally and professionally. I have always considered it an honor and a privilege to know him. Second, he has one edge that I think is a huge one (although I am not sure if it could potentially be a negative as I am not in that end of the business) -- and that's Ron Anderson. Third, Richie is an extremely "intelligent" jockey -- one of the smartest jockeys on the track anywhere. He has ridden for me and called audibles -- 3 steps out of the gate -- that were incredible. He is a true student of the game. He also has an incredible passion for the game.
Anyway, it's not like Jerry Bailey or Edgar Prado is heading out there for a meet or two. I had thought it would take time for him to even get mounts -- and while I didn't see the races, the first three mounts he had were 10-1 and 20-1 ML's I think. I haven't checked the results or entried in a few days but I will. It takes time to build business anywhere unless you already have clients there, or someone asked you to come out there and ride for them. I for one am rooting for him -- always. Eric |
