They save most of the good stuff for the Festival of the South or whatever it is called.

I know but it's a month away. How about an allowance race or two? I guess on the bright side the fields are big, which is good.

Eoin Harty and Casner continue to refuse to give Right To Vote lasix. He goes in the last race on that OP card.

I know they're trying to prove a point and all, or something, but that horse would probably benefit from the medication judging by the way he's stopped so suddenly in his last two races.

I guess they're trying not to look hypocritical or whatever... but are you really hypocritical saying you're against something, and using it, if using it is legal, widely used, and prevents a specific horse or two from a disadvantage?

Endorsement has slid into oblivion also, and his performances look like they have a lot to do with him not taking medication.

As far as these races go, Don't Tell Sophia is poised to exploit the overrated My Miss Aurelia. Don't Tell Sophia's last two races were excellent.

Seven races into a big card and this is what Oaklawn delivers, when its next big card is four weeks away?

Also, the big fields are great, but it's not as if you can play Pick 3s out of the box; you have to wait until Race 4, I believe.

If NYRA offered this...
I'm waiting to see how many races can go off at the same time or within two minutes of Gulfstream, Aqueduct, Fair Grounds, Santa Anita. I'll set the line at 6.5

What a bunch of whiners. Unless you live in Illinois, there's not really anything to b.itch about.

I don't mind the cheaper races since the fields are big. However, Oaklawn's wagering menu is deplorable.

I don't know about deplorable, but it's definitely old school. Other than adding rolling DD's and 3 more pick 3's, it seems pretty normal to me. Maybe the $ just isn't there.

It's not normal to regularly have fields of 8+ where there's no superfecta. They only have supers on the 4th, 6th, and 9th on a regular weekday card. On a day like today, they have no super on the 1st (9 horses), 2nd (11 horses), 3rd (12 horses), 5th (11 horses), 7th (12 horses), and 8th (12 horses). That's lunacy.

They have only one Pick 4 and limited Pick 3s, as you referenced. The two daily doubles per day are well behind the times.

Oaklawn's biggest problem is they cater FAR too much to the local customers. That's nice of them, but it ignores racing in the modern day and goes a long way towards why 1/3rd of their handle on weekends is on-track.

They regularly handle less than Fair Grounds and Tampa Bay on Saturdays because they do a HORRIBLE job of managing their post times and have limited wagering options.

I like Oaklawn, but is a grossly mis-managed racetrack.
