Default Doubles

So I work with a guy who has lived in Saratoga his entire life. He calls himself a once in a while horse player. He saw me streaming video on my phone recently and we got to talking about racing. He says he likes to play doubles when he does play and asked me how I would play them. I was honest. I told him I consider myself a good handicapper and a bad gambler/bettor. I also told him I mostly play pick 3's and 4's. I told him I post here, he will register soon he says. Question is if your a doubles only player, what do the will pays have to be showing to justify a 3-2 double for $5. So 30$ tickets? Or anything along those lines? 3-3 for $5=45$. He said he trys to see payouts of at least 20$ for 2$. I told him that feels way light especially on the $45 tickets. Thanks to anyone who responds without being a douche.

Jean shorts.
Dahoss used to wear them in the local OTB's, he was seen wearing them as recently as Preakness day 2012.
He took a shot at me with it because I said I wore jean shorts w/ a Moss jersey something like 7 years ago.

Glad to see you are back to just totally make stuff up. Who saw me wearing them in a local OTB on Preakness day (this should be good)?

Since you ignored it twice now (hard to believe I know) in regards to the $200 you owe me, I said you can just make a $100 donation to the American Cancer society and we'll call it even. So are you going to, with proof of course?

Rumor has it that while you were posting this you were spotted wearing a mesh tank top, a Zenyatta hat....and that's all.
Is that true?

I don't get it either.

I wore jean shorts religiously until about 2006 when my ass got a little too big for the stable of them I had going.

I told my mom to get me a few new pairs when she asked what I wanted for christmas... that was how I found out how uncool and unfashionable they had become.

I must admit I do like wearing the jean shorts and look mighty spectacular in them at 47 years old. Not as sharp as the guy in the Florida state shirt but not bad.

Anyway back to the original question RHT. I mainly play daily doubles. They seem to give the most bang for my buck especially at Toga and are easier to hit then pick 3's and 4's. The way I play them is 2 horses in one race and a single in the other. I go $20 dd so each bet is $40. I look for nice long shots that can win. Sometimes if you string a few of these together you can really cash in.

how anyone in this day an age can tell me jorts are more comofortable then cargo shorts is beyond me.
also, cargo shorts allow for extra pocket room that is essential for most GOOD handicappers to put their lucky rock, 15 different pens, multi-colored highlighters, dip, cigs, condoms, clip on tie (in case someone invites you to the grandstand), tip sheet and losing tickets for the IRS, just in case ONE day you hit something that is taxed

cargos > jorts

I carry pretty much all of these things (save for the dip, condoms and tie) in my regular jeans / shorts. It's a huge pain in the ass. But I've gone the route of Cargos, and having all of that sh.it swinging around on you like a pack mule not only looks hella lame, it not particularly comfortable.

Plus you have to take all that sh1t out just to sit down, like you do with regular pants.

Cargo<=> Others. No advantage.

Backpack / Murse > Pockets

Sorry dude, NOBODY rolls in these. At least nobody I've ever met. Or seen.

I just bought a pair of William Rast Jeans. These:

And wore them to the track Saturday. Perfectly comfortable. Though I did put my pp's in Sheet's Dad's backpack.

There is no point in everyone carrying a friggin rucksack around. If you show up with one, be prepared to shlep everybody's crap. That's man code.
