Seemed like the right thread to sneak in a little WAR EAGLE today.

The ACC did not impress yesterday.

UF over FSU 37-26
USC over Clemson 27-17
UGA over GT 42-10
Vandy over WF 55-21

Good thing it is basketball season.

I'm very happy that unlike last year the National Champion will at least be SEC champion this year as well. I don't follow SEC football, who's better, Georgia or Alabama??...and which one does Johnny football play for?

Johnny football (i dont care for the nickname btw, fwiw) plays for texas a and m. The aggies, unlike mizzou, have made a very successful transition to the sec.

As for who is better.....good question. Georgia has gotten better as the season has gone on, whereas bama almost (and should have) lost to lsu and then got beat by the aggies. They seem to have tailed off a bit, and losing a key wr wont help.

Still recovering from a long night of drinking and celebrating but had to stop by to give a GO IRISH!!!!!!!!! #1 team in the country and playing for all the marbles! Brian Kelly might be the best coach in America. He wins everywhere he goes from division 2 grand valley all the way to Notre Dame. Haters can say whatever they want but I'm content til January 7.

We should know something soon. I really never thought a season like this one was possible.

I've always wanted to use this icon.

Worst season since 1950.

who does auburn think they can get to coach especially being under serious investigation. sorry but you Won't convince me that $cam didn't take the program down.

regardless of what happens in the SECCG, BAMA's had another good year. the seniors are playing for thier 2nd SECC and 3rd NC ring in 4yrs. pretty good career!

as for nd, they're Still the WORST team in the top 10 and osu is the second worst.

A bitter pill for osu to swallow...go undefeated and it doesn't mean a thing. Awwwww, poor buckeyes.

Your pathetic with your blind hate. Didn't they beat Stanford who is in the top 10? Let me guess, that was lucky and they are still better than ND? I can't wait ril January 7, hopefully that will shut people like you up.

U only have 1 chance to win this matchup: If RHT picks Bama.

I'm not a Notre Dame fan, but this is silly. You're certain that they would have no chance against an inconsistent team like LSU? Or Georgia, who was destroyed by South Carolina during a season where their signature win came courtesy of a miserable game by Florida?

I think ND would be a great match-up for a team like Oregon, given that they are very similar to Stanford.

I will say that I think Alabama will destroy Georgia this week. They are very fortunate to be in the SEC Championship game. The fact that they led Fla 10-9 despite being +2 in turnovers at the 9 minute mark of the game is amazing. They also fed on the little sisters of the SEC, facing a grand total of 2 ranked teams. The Tide -7.5 seems like a terrific bet.

So let me save everyone the time now... The jokes will be Notre Dame has no shot now, the mush has hit again. Blah Blah Blah... That’s fine, I know what I’m talking about though. Notre Dame is legit. I will be making my biggest wager ever on them vs whoever they play in the BCS title game. Bama minus 14, Georgia minus 10. COMICAL, REALLY. I would play Notre Dame in a pick.
Let’s look at this. Start with Oklahoma.... The 2 weeks before playing ND Oklahoma scored 63 and 52 points. The 4 weeks since losing at home to ND as a 14 point favorite Oklahoma has scored 35,42,50 and 51 points going 4-0 since. I think these numbers speak pretty favorably of ND's defense. Let’s now look at Michigan St, and I’ll be honest they have been a complete disappointment. I checked 3 different preseason polls. They were ranked anywhere from 8th-16th in the country. In a way they are fascinating to me at least. Other than the ND loss they have lost 5 games by a combined 13 points. The Northwestern loss bad. The other 3 are to Nebraska, Wisconsin and undefeated Ohio St. Notre Dame buried Michigan St 20-3. Far and away Michigan St’s worst loss of the season. Stanford next. I believe this is a top 6-8 team in the country right now. If there was an 8 team playoff Stanford could win it. Solid football team. They have a bad loss at Washington, they were a 9 point road favorite. Other than that they have been rock solid. They have an NFL running back, and according to Foxsports.com they have 5 other NFL players on the roster. Since losing to Notre Dame they have won 6 games in a row w/ 3 of those wins coming against teams who were ranked 15th or higher at that time. Stanford is legit. They were somehow a 22 point dog at Oregon…. Call it a red board, but this guy crushed that. Even had some cash money line. Maybe I’m too high on Stanford but I believe they are a rock solid top team. I’m not going to mention any more teams. Everyone beat USC this year. Michigan was down. I find this interesting though. Notre Dame beat 3 teams that are in the BCS top 19 right now. The SEC teams that everyone loves……..
Georgia beat 1 team in the current BCS top 25. 1 team that was Florida. Alabama beat Michigan and LSU. I don’t get all the hate for the Notre Dame schedule. Notre Dame would beat Texas A&M right now, anywhere they played them. Alabama lost to them in Tuscaloosa. Back to Georgia that team played a joke of a schedule. Any sensible non SEC homer can see this. Georgia played 2 good teams all year. They got destroyed by South Carolina and they barely beat Florida. I really wish Florida had beat Georgia, because Florida is the best team out of the SEC. Unfortunate they lost the head 2 head. Bottom line is Notre Dame is a great team. A great defense and a good enough offense. The Ohio St hate is comical also. It comes from one of this boards true gems, so I will refrain from defending them. Let’s be clear about them….. They will win a National Championship within the next 2 years. Urban Meyer is that good, and Braxton Miller will be that good.

Darren....As much as it pains me to say this, I disagree with you about ND. Unfortunately, with most of my pending in laws and family ND alum I have watched every freakin game this year and although I still despise them as much as ever, I have to admit that they are the real deal. I think Alabama is going to have their hands full, especially trying to run the ball.

Bob, i hate nd as much or more than anyone, especially because of fans like IoND. i also think i've watched enough and i'm big enough college football fan to give a team it's due credit. the nd defense is nice but not great and the offense is average at best. the schedule fell apart for them to win and they still struggle to make 11-0. i'm saying they are the worst 11-0 team i can remember and will be the worst team to win it all, (if they do) that i can remember.

i'm not sure what Bama will do saturday against UGa. IF Bama is Focused, they'll win. honestly i'm disappointed with the Bama offense and the OL. there have been times they have not dominated like the should. and this is Not a great bama defense but i've known that all along. this defense is good and has shown some guts when needed.
UGa is more talented than nd as far as that goes Lsu, Fla and T-a&m are more talented than nd. sadly IoNd is probably right, IF Uga wins the SEC, nd will win all. mark richt can NOT keep that teams focus at all! Uga's nat'l champ. is this weekend. richt can never keep those boneheads focused and out of troublefor 6 weeks.
