Scav I completely agree. If you have yesterday's DRF just look at the late pik-3 I am referring to and you just won't believe it. How that could pay 245 for two bucks is a mystery to me. Once i realized that the pik-3 payout was for one buck instead of two I thought they had made an error in the payout posted and actually went to equibase.com to confirm it.
I took a tragic beat in the last race at Finger Lakes that cost me 4400 bucks and was inconsolable. I liked a confirmed hanger who was a huge closer to run 2nd or 3rd in the tri, the 6 horse. So its a horrible cheap field but I see a lot of speed and figure that sets up the 6 horses late run to suck up into the tri. I had lost a nose photo in the last race at Philly so decided to cut down my bet at FL. You guessed it, I was originally using 5 horses on top of the 6 for 2nd and 3rd with all, and cut out one of the five horses on top I was using to save a lousy 22 bucks. That 22 bucks I "saved" cost me 4400 bucks.
You really missed an outsatnding tantrum complete with cursing and swearing at myself for being incredibly stupid and cheap.
No Calder today and Finger and Delaware will be under water again so I'm passing and have to get a lotta work done and then later will look at tomorrow's carryovers.
The cheaper tracks are definitely an acquired taste but if you stick with them and follow them a while before actually playing them and get a feel for the horses, jocks, trainers, and make bias and trip notes the money is there.
