Kurt Hoover was asked if the 1/5 favorite would run for a 100k maiden tag next start and said the horse would be given the victory. Only for wagering purposes was the race a no contest.

If true this doesn't seem fair to award purse money to the top three finishers when every jockey pulled up temporarily before riding out their mounts.
