Biden surprised me tonight. I underestimated him. I was expecting Ryan to easily win the debate. Now that the debate is over, I would have to give Biden the edge. I didn't like the way Biden was constantly laughing while Ryan was speaking. I'm not sure how the public will react to that.

So much of what it comes down to is how much passion the candidate shows and how confident the candidate sounds about what he is saying. I felt that Biden came off as more confident and more passionate. I was expecting totally the opposite.

In deciding who won a debate, I think It really comes down to who was more persuasive. I felt Biden was a little more persuasive.

However, I did feel that Ryan's closing statement was his best argument. It was the argument that Obama's policies have failed and that Obama doesn't have a good plan to turn things around. More and more spending might help a little bit in the short run but in the long run it's a disaster. We are just going further and further into debt.
