Atlanta Embraces Tenets of Obamacare, Cuts Health Costs by $3.2 Million

For the first time in six years, the city of Atlanta will see its health care costs and city employees’ premiums go down instead of up, to the tune of $3.2 million in savings.

As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, the city’s contributions to health plans for more than 19,000 residents were initially expected to increase by $4.3 million, but new projections show that health costs will actually drop thanks to a new emphasis on preventative care, negotiations between the city and insurance providers, and massive savings in Medicare Advantage plans:

months ago, i said up to 30 million (back when the cbo first started revising their numbers) and was told i was wrong. you know, it's a good feeling when you know you're right-but knowing who will be footing the bill for that crap, i wish i'd been wrong.
won't it be great for everyone to be covered? but who will pay for it????? who?

they used 6 million when the bill was being put together-that's how they got the original obama-bs-care under the magic trillion dollar price tag that congress demanded...you know, the bipartisan passed bill. dems and reps..but we keep being told that republicans won't work with obama and the dems-and yet this bloated, disgusting THING got passed. is why. yes, indeed. health care stocks thru the roof when the thing was upheld by the scotus.

everyone....just forget it. go stock up with vaseline, ky, or whatever lube you prefer. cause we're all about to take it up the you-know-what.

Yup - if, 4 years from now, after the exchanges are open, people still refuse to purchase health insurance, they will pay a penalty - as soon as Congress releases the hold on that penalty they have right now.

In fact, let's quote your article on this:

“This report confirms that more than 98 percent of Americans won’t be affected by this penalty,” said a spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services. “And this update doesn’t change the basic fact that the individual responsibility policy will only affect people who can afford health care but choose not to buy it.”

And your article also confirms the two articles I posted, that Obamacare is working with Medicare Advantage

Republicans were also faced with evidence on Wednesday that their dire predictions about the Medicare Advantage program under the health care law aren’t coming true — at least for now.
