The notion that veterans are a pawn for Romney is an outright lie. The reason the Republicans would not agree to this is because it violates the Budget Control Act by exceeding spending limits set by the debt ceiling agreement and increases the deficit. The Democrats could have complied with the law and found spending decreases to balance it. It was bait thrown at the Republicans.

The allegation that Republicans and Mitt Romney don't give a s*** about veteran's is an outright lie. With Congress ready to go on a seven week break, the Democrats are trying make the false claim that Republicans don't care about veterans to create a campaign issue. What a disgrace.
