Hopefully ND is gaining a little respect around here, I have a feeling this year could be very special.

So far so good and I give you credit for calling it early.

Granted...you probably would have even if they were terrible , but they are a lot better than many, including myself thought.

That said, they still look like the 3rd best team in the nation after Alabama and Oregon.

Agree. I was obviously wrong about them.

Well I'm looking forward to the next 9 weeks. Hoping the Tide keep things going. Want nothing more than a Bama - ND match-up and a Romney win so I can troll the sh.it out of this board and the people who actually believe that Oklahoma is a good team this year.

ND has a great defense. But what you saw last night was Bob Stoops getting exposed as a mediocre coach and great recruiter. Again.

How many times does Oklahoma have to lose in order for sanity to be regain on deciding who is an elite team?

The same Oklahoma that made Boise State relevant? Now we have to suffer with that god-damned marriage proposal in flashback ESPN fluff?

Meh.

Hell even LSU against Notre Dame. Les couldn't f.uck that one up.

I'll get bashed for saying this probably, but after the tragic losses manti Teo encountered and seeing the team rally around him at the Michigan State game I really had this feeling they were gonna keep it going. Teo is everything a college athlete should be. Can't slip up now, 11-0 going into USC will be huge! 8-0 and they graduate 97% of the football team, not too shabby.

Hossy actually gave notre dame some respect a little over half way through the season.

I still give them credit for doing what they did. When all is said and done I think they are still the third best team I have seen this year, but they should be commended for getting through the season undefeated. I doubt many people thought they could do it.

You called it from day one, and I can certainly appreciate that. Enjoy the ride.

But your approach today just reinforces what a lot of people dislike about ND...which is their fans.

My approach made me a bad fan? I'm sorry I don't just sit back and ignore the constant bashing that has gone on in this thread. When someone says a 12-0 team couldn't beat anyone in the top 10 I'm going to come out firing. Find something bad I said today that wasn't provoked.

The problem with giving a team like Notre Dame respect is they have been overrated every year.

To move ahead of Texas in the polls shows a bias of epic proportions.

How these experts can look at the two individual games and come to the conclusion that Notre Dame is better than Texas is beyond me.

S.hit like this makes people dislike Notre Dame.

Even Alabama didn't get this much love when Saban took over. The pollsters were still conservative with their estimates.

But that's what you get. Notre Dame was the bandwagon team on the 80's. They are catering to the masses.

Safe to say Notre Dame is relevant unlike what Rick Reilly said.

The hysteria is always relevant.

Until you get in a BCS bowl you're not necessarily back, Irish.

Unless two decades of mediocrity have lowered your standards...then yes you're back!!

Two BCS bowls since 05, granted they were both losses. Is that good enough?

That's right. Forgot about those two.

Didn't they have like 3 or 4 losses one season and still got a bcs bid?
