did you know brooks originally wanted john wayne to be in the movie? wayne said no to being in it, but said he'd be first in line to watch it.
love mel brooks movies. blazing saddles is my favorite tho, followed by history of the world part 1.

I'm still waiting for Part II...Seems like every actor in the world was in that movie..So many funny scenes..
When he goes to sign up for unemployment, the clerk (Bea Arthur i think), asks what kind of work he does and he answers 'stand-up philosopher' and she says 'you mean you're a bullschitter'...
