and those who are pointing out that they 'aren't muslims'-if they were, would you be as sympathetic? i would imagine that the answer for some would be 'no', and that's a shame.

What I think is a shame is the people of the U.S. not familiar with Sikhism are not being allowed to hear what the Sikhs are saying because although true it's not PC.

Especially when the main difference involves equality and acceptance of other religions. But why let facts get in the way.

Attention Americans who are Muslim haters and bigots - don't fear! The right-wing skinhead killer actually killed Sikhs. You're safe from finger-pointing at any consequences for your bigotry for now.

----------------------
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opi...,4837148.story

From todays Baltimore Sun:

Not all is rosy for American minorities. Some politicians and media personalities are actively engaged in fear mongering, mainly against American Muslims. Because some confuse them with Muslim extremists, the rhetoric has caused more than 1,000 hate crimes, including murders, against the American Sikh community since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

According to a Sikh leader in the Milwaukee area, two taxis owned by Sikh drivers were vandalized, and two Sikh men were assaulted there following9/11. American Muslims still get to face the brunt of the injury, according to Muslim civil rights organizations, with thousands of complaints filed every year.

What, then, keeps the American minorities so committed to the United States? The answer lies in the wounds of the police officers recuperating in Wisconsin's hospitals. American minorities are cognizant that no matter how much hate the bigots spew and no matter how many bullets the lunatics fire, the institutions and the Constitution of America are on their side.

It was nice of them to point out that a "right-wing skinhead" (did they ask him about his politics?) was not informed about the people he was killing. Or the other racist idiots. Thank god there are newspapers to share this valuable insight.

Like 'Zig said, this guy just decided he was entitled to go on a spree and kill anybody he wanted. I'm sick of loonies using excuses to blow others away. But I'm glad they are investigating it as domestic terrorism/hate crime. It may prove not to be, but if it is, then middle-age white guys can get in the "you're a religious terrorist, too" boat.

I'm tired of the f.u.c.k.ing way Foster Of Xenophobes "News", and members of our Congress, have had a public hate-on for "Muslims" the past 10 years - how dare they. Yes, they have blood on their hands for fostering violence and hate and intolerance in this society. Shut the eff up, you ignorant bigots. This country is a country, not of old white arrogant, self-entitled, intolerant Christians, but of multi-cultural, multi-diverse immigrant families and their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. The only native true native Americans have been abused beyond reason in their own right. Anybody who thinks they own America, and are better than their fellow Americans - get the hell out. You're a danger to this democracy and country's ideals.

Skinheads afraid this jerk will give racists, bigots and skinheads a bad name:

------------------------------

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/07/us...ting.html?_r=1

Officials at the Southern Poverty Law Center said they had been tracking Mr. Page for about a decade because of his ties to the white supremacist movement and described him as “a frustrated neo-Nazi who had been the leader of a racist white-power band.”

They said he played guitar and sang vocals for a band started in 2005 called End Apathy.

“This guy was in the thick of the white supremacist music scene and, in fact, played with some of the best known racist bands in the country,” said Mark Potok, a senior fellow at the center. “The music that comes from these bands is incredibly violent and it talks about murdering Jews, black people, gay people and a whole host of other enemies. It is music that could not be sold over the counter around the country.”

Mr. Page was living in a rented apartment in Cudahy, about five miles from the sprawling Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek, a suburb of Milwaukee. He was shot by police after he fired several shots at a police officer tending to one of the victims, officials said.

Police Chief John Edwards of Oak Creek did not give a motive for the shooting, which is being treated as an act of “domestic terrorism.”

Yea why criticize a religion whose doctrine says all non-believers are infidels, calls for jihad for things like cartoons, and who kill thousands of daughters each year in the name of honor! Not to mention attempting to slaughter the people we are speaking of because they simply believed in Sikhism,

I suppose as long as women in this country have access to subsidized or free health care who cares?

And if we want change and at least I do. Let's dedicate at least half of all foreign aid going to such countries to helping women achieve equality!

And one last thing as this episode has shown. The expression of hate and racism in the form of violence is a far different animal than a disagreement about the public opinion of a guy who sells chicken sandwiches.

Let's reserve the words like hate, racist, etc. for something truly despicable and horrific and not toss them casually as a simplistic rhetorical tool within the parlor game of modern political debate.

Hear that Riot!

Yeah! Reserve them for when people are like ... hateful, racist, and bigoted. And demonstrate it.

what in the world does your second paragraph have to do with the first?

Simple

Basically as far as women rights and equality are concerned, there are bigger fish to fry!

and the silence and defense as 'most muslims are peaceful' rings at a bit hypocritical.

I have and will never have ANY respect for a religion who treats their women as most Americans treat there dogs.

i concluded long ago that dell has his own private language.

i'm sure what he posts makes sense to him but it just looks like a string of non-sequiturs to me. i don't try to decode it anymore. i just enjoy the ride.

You would never understand as indicated by your moniker 'hi i'm god'

Agreed.

Arguing with him is pointless because he has repeatedly demonstrated that he is not capable of intellectually processing a rational argument.

However, sitting back and watching him appear to lose his own train of thought in the middle of one of his nonsensical posts is often quite amusing.
