That was really fun to watch. I watched the cross-country part of the Olympic 3-day eventing, and whenever it was mentioned that a horse was a Thoroughbred, I wondered if it had started its career as a racehorse.
Those inflatable vests are pretty cool. Not only do they offer a lot of protection to fallen riders (one horse's rear foot slammed right down on the rider's chest, but the rider was fine), but they make the riders look hilarious as they waddle off the course.

![]() Oliver Townend takes a serious spill at the cross country jump known as The Hollow. He was air lifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was knocked unconscious and suffers from fractured ribs and collar bone, sidelined from riding for 21 days, but credits his air vest from any further serious injury. Quote:
