|   Handicaps would help.  Like you mention, today was a Group 1 race where he faced three other horses and one of the three was his hapless rabbit in to set the pace for him -- and the other was 5th and 20th in his only two prior starts in Graded Stakes. If this was the 1930's -- he'd have given those two horses 60lbs each. But, it was weight-for-age, so he gave them nothing. |
