Ed Reed is certainly a great player...but he's a far bigger menace against the pass. For a coach like Belichick, who has a pass heavy team that constantly throws the ball, he's got to fret over Ed Reed way more than your coach of a balanced offensive team.

I have heard same from Coughlin too. At the Tilted Kilt (Scottish Hooters, great bar) the night before the Thanksgiving game they played in Denver.

Yeah, but wasn't Woodson a great Pittsburgh player as a cornerback? His post-1996 career was entirely different than the first several seasons of his career. He was an awesome cover, probably even better than he was a safety. IMO.

I guess you guys never saw Lawrence Taylor. He redefined a position, the best I have ever seen.

The '85 Bears defense is the best unit I have ever seen, Buddy Ryan was a genius.

I remember the last two Steelers' teams of the 70s to win the Super Bowl.

The AFC was LOADED in the 70s. If Dallas had played in the AFC in that decade, it would not have made all of the Super Bowls in which they played as NFC champs.
