It would be impossible for Teeth of the Dog to have been game, or for a mention of it being an exciting race. "Life and death" suits it so much better...

It's going to be tough for Teeth Of The Dog to get respect unless he can take down the Travers or something else down the road.

People have been using him all year as a marker for the weakness of races like the Preakness and the Wood Memorial because of his presence and subsequent decent showings.

Of course, he beat the great Went The Day Well (in that one's US debut) when breaking his maiden, and everyone loved to talk that horse up this winter and spring. Not sure what gives.

Must be all about the PR.
