![]() He will. One of my favorite parts of this TC season has been getting to see Lava Man in his new role. Still looks amazing. I'm glad he gets rounds of applause from the grandstand just for being there.

![]() Okay, here's another glass half-full: though I'm incredibly bummed about IHA's scratch (my stepbrother even called as soon as he heard, concerned about how I was handling the news!), I hated the horse's name. Or rather, I hated the thought of a horse named "I'll Have Another" joining a list of elegantly named Triple Crown winners (with the possible exception of Sir Barton. It's hard for anything with the syllable "bart" in it to sound elegant). So there's that.

In defense of Sir Barton. The "Sir" is in there, plus Bart sounds like Bard as in Shakespeare. |

My husband says Whirlaway sounds like an amusement park ride. I told him it was still a good name, shut up. (But yeah, it does.) Agree about Bodemeister, though I really like the horse.

![]() Maybe it sounds more elegant to those of us who first knew of him as a Triple Crown winner.
![]() Per NBC I'll Have Another is not leading the post parade after all. That was a tentative plan. I believe they said he'll be in the winner's circle before another race and they'll acknowledge him then. I did wonder about how confused he and Lava Man would be doing the post parade part without the race. Although I dunno that they'd ask Lava Man to do it on his own, he could always lead the post parade. |
