i read an opinion that ny need only have done as churchill does for the derby-assign security to the runners themselves. that way, trainers don't have two areas to worry about, they don't have personnel and horses in two different places, etc. made sense to me. especially considering that they had them move so far ahead of the race. i didn't think about all the logistics when it was originally presented.
i also read that some are saying IHA shouldn't be allowed to run because he was 3 mins late moving. gimme a break.

Why should logistics matter when the NYSRWB put these protocols in place not to protect the betting public, but rather to try to save face from their recent failure to detect the failure to roll back the 1% takeout and to further make NYRA look bad so they can kiss Cuomo's royal a$$?

They weren't going to let Matz & O'Neill cook oats for their horses today until some inquiries were made to a higher authority and an OK was garnered...

This has gone beyond foolish and ridiculous.

These people now "in charge" do realize that we actually hammer metal plates onto horses hooves with nails, right? And that's not some illegal "soring"?

....I guess a little cinnamon and sugar for that oatmeal may be out of the question.
