but i do find it ironic that you and others are sooo anti-government intervention, until you're for it.

Where did I say I was for government intervention?

I am against the government intervention that continues to keep the massacre of babies in utero legal.

Had the Supreme Court not acted in 1973, the deadlock in the case would have prevented the killing of that human being, and of course the erroneous precedent that one parent alone can order the execution of her would-be child would never have been established.

The fathers aren't off the hook either. It's wrong to set up that situation and then be nowhere to be found. Everybody should learn a little self control instead of acting mentally like children, who then don't want children.

Find a dictionary printed prior to 1973 and you may find a word : aborticide.

That hasn't happened yet. The government only intervenes after the head has been blown off.

jms knows that so I'm sure he's for the second amendment right to defend one's self.

When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

Still waiting on the abortion limit that Riot alluded to...

Getting back to the thread - everybody who doesn't live in NY can still drink whatever volume of soda or coffee that they think they'd like to buy...

do you feel the government is correct in putting more rules and regulations in place for women who go to a clinic to receive legal care?

Since men cant get pregnant, only cause it, they get no say IMO. I myself if I were inclined to want a penis inside me and got pregnant I couldnt kill the baby even if I didnt want it, but that is me and I am in no way shape or form someone to tell another what they should do with their body and whats inside it. This is the BIGGEST reason the morning after pill should be made available everywhere over the counter.

So now we're comparing a law against murder to a law on the size of god-damned sodas.

It's bad enough I have to get f.ucking robbed at Belmont half the f.ucking week. But now I've got to accept limits on beverages because if I don't I accept murder.

WTF?

Its all about control, control over what goes in or out of a persons body.

Long term conditioning. Enslavement. Slowly give us social justice on maybe 3-4 issues over a decade...because we can't focus on more than that. Then take away our freedoms that we aren't focused on.

Lunacy.

Just because I dig chicks doesnt mean I dont have little movies playing in my head about Brad Pitt or Mathew M. Its kinda like the fantasy that men have about being with 2 girls at the same time, not likely to happen but the movie sure is good.

As long as I'm not paying for the consequences, and nobody dies as a result, I don't care you screw.

So what do you feel is an appropriate punishment for women who abort a pregnancy? Death? Life without parole? Twenty years? Ten? Let's get down to brass tacks, here. What do you see as appropriate punishment?

What was the penalty in 1972 and prior?

Abortion is premeditated, so it would depend on the state law for murder regarding that modus opperandi. And if premeditated, there would also be sentence for the accomplices in the crime.

I'm asking you what you think is an appropriate punishment for women who obtain abortions. If you were in the State legislature, what would you propose for these women?

I'm not an attorney, so if I was a PART of the legislature, I would research the law on what fits if abortion loses its current exception status with regard to murder.

As a committee in the legislature, we'd have to come up with a law that fits in terms of sentencing, deterrence, and prevention of the illegal activity in the first place. That vote wouldn't be taken overnight, and I'm not about to pen that new law here either.

Logic says that it is premeditated because it requires hiring a professional to do it.

All I'm doing is asking your opinion. What do you think is an appropriate punishment? You must have a ballpark idea, seeing as how you are so clear that you think it's murder. So, what IN YOUR OPINION is an appropriate sentence for a woman who obtains an abortion?

Alot of death and infection from back street abortions.

Get used to this reality, Joey: I have no right to force you to take an unwanted child that needs a father as a random result of you having sex. You have no right to force a woman to abort a child. And you have no right to force women to bear a child.

You don't want women to have abortions? Then I suggest you always wear condoms, you start adopting babies like mad, and you start providing free birth control to every girl over the age of 12.
