Honest question: have you ever been to Pimlico?

No I haven't....why? Because why would I ever go to Maryland? It is not a destination state. That is my point.

And Kentucky is?

Look, I'm no Maryland lover, but to call an entire state "not a destination state" without having ever been there reeks of ignorance. Have you ever heard of Annapolis? The Eastern Shore? Ocean City? The Naval Academy? Lots of people come from all over the place to visit Maryland.

Also, LOL at the guy who's never been to Maryland apparently thinking Monmouth is a destination.

Jay Privman said on Steve's show yesterday that Baltimore is the most underrated city in America and I think he's absolutely right.

You don't sound like a typical Bostonian at all. Do you have a twitter handle and what were your thoughts about Joel Ward scoring the game winning goal against the B's a couple weeks back?

Having lived in the general proximity of Baltimore for the last 13 plus years, I couldn't disagree more. There are like 1.3 nice areas there and the rest I could do without. Still, I think it would be a huge travesty to take that race away from the city.

If you don't stray from Camden Yards and the Inner Harbor...maybe. As for the rest of Baltimore, it really doesn't get much worse in this country.

Oh come on. I give Baltimore a hard time but it's not THAT bad. Actually there are many parts of the city that are being gentrified although the neighborhood where pimlico resides certainly isn't one of those parts.

Ridiculous. There are some bad neighborhoods, like any other big city, but the worse in the country? Not even close. There are plenty of great places around Baltimore that are nowhere near the harbor.

there's as much history in baltimore /maryland, if not more, than boston/ massachusetts.
they may take the race from maryland but they won't get the Preakness name.

There are a million things to do in Maryland, and I've traveled the world.

I'd rather go to Baltimore than Boston. It's a great city, and Pimlico isn't as bad as everyone that has never been there makes it out to be.

I have been there, the track itself is a track, like most others. No real problems with the facility. The neighborhood is awful though. People use old wheel barrows as strollers.
