Maybe Sumitas will comment, or better yet, start a thread in the poly room if that's where his thoughts go. This thread should stay here and remain on the topic presented. |

All I was trying to say is that I thought I understood where Sumitas was coming from. I'll let him explain it further. I've already said all I need to say about the photo (see above). All I was saying is that if this was going to become a poly thread, that's where it should go. Peace. And RIP Pine Island. DTS |

I am shaken by the breakdown. We just can't keep ignoring them. The picture shows the shocking end to a great animal. How brave they are and we must do what's best to prevent this.

my husband picked up an arkansas democrat gazette for me today. i can't believe they chose to use this appalling photo as well--and it's their only pic from the day. i'm sorry, i don't understand it. nothing like focusing on the bad, rather than celebrating all the good.

Thanks for starting this thread, Randall, and for everyone chiming in on which news sites have used the picture-- I normally buy all the papers the next day to read recaps of the races, but thanks to this thread, I knew which ones to avoid buying!
