By the way, the mare French Debutante is a pretty significant factor in French Deputy's stats as a broodmare sire. She's dropped 5 foals, the first 4 all winners, 3 in stakes and 3 won their debuts.

The youngest, EZ Effort, just ran second on the undercard of sibling Uh Oh Bango's San Pasqual win. He was beaten by a horse named Three Rivers, whose previous effort was a second place finish in a stakes race while making his racing debut.

Despite the potent win-early stats of the family, he still went off at nearly 6-1.

It's a shame he only had three or four crops race here -- or the sample sizes would have been much larger. The vast majority of his broodmares are obviously in Japan.

How many French Deputy's have debuted in the US in the last five years -- the last one I could find won it's debut at Del Mar at 17/1 odds on Synthetic and upset Gayego 2nd time out in a 7/1 victory.

Three of the five mares French Debutante dropped were sired by Top Hit (who stands for 2K in Arizona)

The other two were sired by In Excess -- one of which made over 500K and the other was EZ Effort who you mention.

They should breed her to a bigtime stallion.

That's a good idea. Too bad they didn't try Indian Charlie when they had a chance. The same connections that race the foals owns Top Hit (who they also raced with some success).

I wonder from your stats if there's a certain cross that seems to be successful.
