I think it's more of a case of Fisher, being the GM or having a stronger say in personnel. Like Bill Parcells used to say,

I'm kind of happy he didn't come because perhaps the owner will realize that he needs one guy to call the shots and that top coaches aren't going to be comfortable with the current situation. Ireland needs to either be the boss or be replaced.
