I believe he is protected by the whistle blowers law, so they have no alternative but to give him the golden parachute. It might have to be made public because it is a state university.

Joe Paterno has lung cancer. You have to seperate everything, even if your not a fan of his anymore. Im sorry to hear this and would not wish it on anyone.

This is some story. I can't get over it. When I read that he's been diagnosed with lung cancer all I could do was shake my head in disbelief.
