The Tribe has picked up the option of Exhausto Carmona.

I'll repeat.

The Tribe has picked up the option of Exhausto Carmona.

Anyhoo---Hillis' contract, I mean Hillis' boo boo is still not sa good. That leaves the team with one rb....and he is someone's practice squad loss.

So the Browns are holding tryouts at rb this week.

If you can answer the question ''strings or no strings?" correctly-----you should go to the tryout.

But the ever loyal Browns fanatics remain solidly behind the team:

Here's a positive....the Browns received one vote in the AP Top 25 for this week.

I think a close loss to the Mexicans will put them into the 25th or maybe even 24th spot next week.

I think picking up Carmona's option was wise. Still cheap and still pitches well at times. He pitched well in late summer then didn't in September. They didn't pick up much of Lowe's contract...the Braves just wanted to dump him. That move's simply throwing darts at a wall. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sizeless with the team next year. No one is going to throw money at his injuries. They can get him much cheaper with mostly an incentives contract. (if only they had traded for Fister instead of Obaldo we'd be fine!!)

There's not much to say about the Browns. I really didn't want them to fire Mangini as I said it's just re-arranging the Titanic deck chairs, hence my argument that the Bengals should keep Marvin Lewis. I think I was right on that one. I prefer guys like Schottenheimer and Hargrove who may not win have won championships but are very consistent in approach and good results followed. 2 years was not enough for Mangini. I'm not a big fan of the new guy, but they need to give Shurmur at least 5 years minimum to attempt to do something. changing coaches every 2 or 3 years has not worked and never will work. I mentioned the Steelers in my "marvin lewis should not be fired" thread and that is what you do. 3 coaches in 42 years. AS much as I hate them, that is the benchmark. They are without question the model NFL franchise by a large margin.

The only way I see that as wise is if they are looking for another team to sucker with Jimenot bait.

The Indians pay 5 mill of Lowe's 15.

That's serious money for the Tribe.

The Browns are now below rebuild. They need a completely new engine...and I will not type the p word here.

I'll wait I guess. They really didn't play a poor 2nd half yesterday, and though not good they aren't embarrasing themselves I guess. 49ers are a 6-1 team and I thought they'd lose by 20 plus. It's a first year coach going without training camp and a qb in his first full season as a starter. I'm not thrilled with what I see with either, but their personnel may not be too good as of yet. That Haden and Ward they picked up in the draft last year look pretty good and Taylor and Sheard are both starting on the D line this year who they picked up first two rounds as is Little at WR who played no football last year as he was ineligible. Hardesty has disappointed, yes but no one goes 100 percent in the draft. Need to see Colt 9 more games this year, and then start on fixing the O line next year. The really easy schedule has helped them win some games and could win a few more with it so Luck is no option, but should still get a pretty high pick next year. I wouldn't trade down as they've done a ton recently. They've got Atlanta's number one next year too with this year's trade down!! I can wait....I've been doing it for 40 plus years...what's another 10 or 20!!

Think we will have to wait for the regular season to play out. It's pretty nuts. I picked the Browns with 9 because I thought the 49ers were the next hot team to go down.Didn't happen.

True on the draft, but I can't see taking players because you think their history will miraculously turn...like Brainless Edwards.

Little fit the mold.''Hey! He didn't play last year! We'll take him."He is starting because his experience in not playing fits in well with our offense.

It was actually smart picking the Browns....you lost it on the 3rd down facemask when they had them stopped, and then the pass to the 400 lb nose tackle on 3rd down!! It happens, but those were tough things that the Browns are good at making happen to themselves!!

We can't cover a 400 pound nose tackle----do you know how embarrassing that is to our tertiary!?
