Very nice and 'tasteful' interview Steve..............I'm glad I started subscribing to Sirius when I did because that's what got me listening to you............you've helped me land a couple of 'signers' over the past 4 years. I loved the bumper music comments!!

Nice write-up Steve, I can't believe that Clyde didn't get a shout out.

Great Q & A with the man that 'turned me on' to Saratoga. See ya in two weeks at BC. Brockguy making the trip across the pond ensures a good time.

Steve,

It is my great pleasure to have met you and been allowed to visit with you occasionally at Saratoga. Your show, the web site, but most importantly, your passion and generousity is not only contagious, but adds volumes to the horse players enjoyment of the sport.

To see how far you have come gives rise to wonder what the next 10 years will bring. We all are around for the ride.

I lift my bourbon to you Sir,

Spyder

I'm still wondering how a nice Jewish guy winds up peddling pork.

Spydee..

Too kind. Thank you. Everyone at DT contributes by promoting discussion and fueling mutual interest in the game, and things like the season-long Spa Contest you run adds to that pleasure and experience immensely. Whatever else I may do involving racing going forward, I'm incredibly happy to be doing what I am now. And countless people have a hand in it, and I'm very grateful.

Thx Dell. It's great to be walking around at Saratoga or a BC, look up and spot you and Barney. Didn't get to say it in the Q&A, but the bringing together of racing enthusiasts -- like foisting Brock on an unsuspecting America -- is something I'm very proud of. We may not always be 'one big happy', but the group has helped forge a bunch of great friendships.

I liked how pulled pork helped to "galvanize" your writing. I hadn't heard of anyone whose muse was processed meat and barbecue sauce.

You're Sui Generis, Byk.
Awfully nice Chris.. The Barbecue did truly start everything, and galvanize is the right word. The 2001 Derby trip -- my first -- is what more or less kickstarted my wanting to try to write and broadcast again. And that summer I started running the Carousel cafe at Saratoga and began meeting owners, trainers and industry stakeholders. It went forward from there. To be honest, if I had tried to plan to put together what I've been doing these last 10 years, it wouldn't be possible. It just happened the way it happened. And I'm very grateful...

And if I'm Sui Generis, where does that put you???
