I think people root for unethical, evil scumbags. How else can you explain this thread?

Father a preacher who prostitutes their son for money? It's all good.

Pampered star has a sketchy past? It's all good.

All hail Satan!!

Brady.

That is a QB. Newton (0-2) has been electric, so has Vick (1-1). Watch Brady for numbers, wins and how to do the job right regardless of supporting cast mates.

Newton will probably be an interesting fantasy quarterback for years to come. But did anybody actually watch either of his two games? It's easy to play MMQB just looking at stats, but when it came down to crunch time both against Arizona and yesterday, Newton didn't exactly set the world on fire in the red zone. Had a chance to tie Green Bay late yesterday, and his throws were all over the place.

The aside to all of this is that Green Bay's defense might actually really stink.

More salient points.

When Sham's stats actually help win a game---why, you Newton's Flaw adorers get back to us.

He is a rookie and I dong think anyone here is saying he's as good as Brady Manning, Brees, Rivers, Rodgers, etc. At least not that I've read anyway. He's going to make rookie mistakes and a lot of them. His numbers are inflated because he's being allowed to throw so much. I get all of that but I'm not sure how anyone can deny that what he's done so far has far exceeded any expectations. Chances are that he comes back to Earth soon and doesn't even have a pro-bowl season. But for two weeks, he's been historical and done things that few quarterbacks have ever done and none have ever done in their first two NFL games.

Of course he's exceeded expectations. I just think throwing for a gang of yards isn't as important as being able to will one's team to victory when a victory is within reach. Perhaps that will change with experience.

The only thing I will say is that the Panthers offense isn't wholly untalented. Steve Smith can obviously still play, and if the Panthers would actually try running the ball occasionally, Williams/Stewart are very able backs. Not a lot of non-Tom Brady led teams can have long term success in the NFL with an offense as unbalanced as the Panthers have been so far.

Newton- real solid game 1. As for game 2, the yardage seems a bit fraudulent. The three INTs doesn't look good, nor does the QB rating in the low 70s for the game.

I thought sCam kNewnothin would be a complete fraud ... but throwing for 400 yards a game --- even in losing efforts in todays pathetic pinball scoring NFL -- is incredible for a rookie.

Scam=0-2, the Newtons (he and his dad) are loving the checks that are hitting the bank about right now. Hell, they already had money in the bank from last year but more doesn't hurt.

Well Dahler...looks like your frumpy opinion of Newton's Flaw is not exactly shared by legion.

Where do you get these crazy ideas from anyway??
