![]() When a horse is in rehab you do what you can to help the horse recover from their injury and return to full athletic function as you would a human athlete: physical therapy, conditioning, hyperbaric oxygen, etc. I do lots of therapeutic massage and manipulative techniques on horses to help improve their athletic performance.
"Hormones and no-no drugs" is a broad, open statement that really doesn't mean anything. Many drugs are beneficial and good for the horse, are essential to excellent quality veterinary practice, and are used for the health and wellness of the animal on a daily basis at the track, but are not allowed on race day. "How long do they last, can they be tested for". Yes. You might want to review the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium regulations, FAQ's and site and familiarize yourself with therapeutic medications, use and withdrawal times here http://www.rmtcnet.com/ And go to TheHorse.com and sign up free, then enter "rehabilitation" and "raceday medications" to learn more about it.

![]() I generally use crack, heroin, crystal meth, EPO, elephant juice and LSD when rehabing my horses. And I found that marijuana mixed with hay is great to stimulate their appetites.

![]() I presume ice boxes and magic shoes are in the offing for most laid-up horses.

![]() Everyone talks about growing the sport and attracting new people. Riot is the only that takes this seriously. He tried to give me the info. The rest of you including Chuck, the great trainer, talk down to me and make it look like I dont belong in here. I try to respect any and all in here. I am not any kind of insider but I do enjoy the sport. Im sorry for intruding in this good ole boy club. Thank you riot for the info and not making fun of me.

![]() I spent over 30 years as a firefighter here in Dallas and I can tell you a few things about cheating death. You want to be a smart arse and then call time out and want to be considerate.
