Fashionably late is always the best way to go in these cases if possible. If it's all or none in terms of being on time, I've found unless the skipping the event leads to a big score where they can shop from it, the wives are never happy, so the safe bet is to go to the wedding and catch the replay when you get back probably.

To Cannon and Well...

thanks for the advice...got the ok from the wife to first go see Ausable run and then show up at the reception a bit late after working out some details to get her to the wedding/reception on time...this is the same wonderful lady who agreed 36 years ago to stop off at the Saratoga Harness track the night of our wedding so we could watch my horse run

Wow! Either she's a saint, or you're quite a catch.

:-)

Good luck to "Sable" and all.

As you can tell, I'm not a serial poster, but your post above is a thing of beauty. Congratulations man. Here's to another 36 years!

If your wife ever decides to hold a training class, I'd like to reserve a spot for my wife.

Default Friday rain?

Looking forward to heading to the Spa on Friday. Presently, weather indicates 50% chance of rain. If the race is taken off the turf, will Ausable still run?

Anyone know anything about the #9 horse in the race? 6 year old mare making her 5th lifetime start. First race June 26, 2011.... I thought first start at 6 was odd. Is she a failed broodmare?
