Not sad at all, this part of the board is designated for politics/society so folks here freely express their opinions. I can only speak for myself but I am quite aware that public discourse isn't likely to "solve" the world's problems. Debating politics is one way of staying informed, doesn't imply that I think my ideas are sage.

somer, i 100% agree that debating is staying informed, but for this particular thread, on this particular subject, no one needed to inject muslims and pakistanis. this, to me, was more of a societal thread, put out early in the morning, and someone hadn't got the chance to blame the pissy taste of their cornflakes on obama yet.
