Bulginbaah was officially retired today.

This gelding epitomised the term 'warrior'. He had 91 starts for 22 wins and 27 second and third placings. He won nine stakes races and was twice G1 placed.

Happy retirement, old boy.

Oh man I was a little worried to log on and see your name here (was thinking don't tell me Jimmy or Katie)...

Very happy to see him retired and wishing him a very long and happy life.

So the Foxbridge... can that be renamed for him at this point?

He had won that one how many times? *

Happy days...

Naming the Foxbridge after him is a great idea! He won it 3 times (2006, 2009 and 2010), and he was 2nd (by a nose!) in 2008.

Who was he 2nd to, ed, and wasn't he 4th one year?

Geez how many times did he run in that race and yes... rename it!

Hopefully we'll see Sir Slick's name in this thread one of these days...

He was 2nd to G1 winner Jacowils in 2008, and yeah, he was 4th in 2007.

No news on Sir Slick yet. He's not entered in any of the major G1s coming up, so maybe there's hope! Wait and see.

HUGE news:

Can't really think of words at the moment to properly pay tribute to a great career. But these videos can say it better than words ever could.

A true champion. One of the 5 best horses I've seen race in NZ in my lifetime.

He got a race.

The race was renamed the Zipping Classic following the incredible effort by Zipping to win the Sandown Classic for the fourth successive year in 2010. Now in retirement, Zipping will lead the field out for this year’s instalment.
