Sorry, what was the question?

I could only watch the first 5 minutes of the video.

I can tell I'm also going to be sorry that I commented in a political thread. Broke my own rule: No poly-ticking on a horsey board. Mixing what I loathe with what I love.

Try again. Watch the whole thing. Both "sides" of the concern - right and left - are given fair exposure if you bother to watch the whole thing. There is an awful lot of "anti left" stuff in there that should please you personally.

It's nice to see a news organization ask tough questions of both sides. Our American media pretty much is a yammering repetition of talking points handed to them.

And yes, if you are not going to watch the whole video, giving an opinion about it anyway, out of ignorance of it's content, is probably going to prove pretty unrewarding to you. But thanks for coming on and telling us you didn't watch it.

You got all that from my 3-word comment/question?

You’re welcome. But, wait… Did I give an opinion? Perhaps I should have rephrased my question. Something like,

Al Jazeera . . .

The Qatar-owned news channel? The network that the U.S. State Department and Central Intelligence Agency have said is manipulated by its owner to suit its political interests?

Al Jazeera . . .
The network that broadcast the homecoming of Samir Kuntar to Lebanon, calling him a pan-Arab hero?

But even had I said that, and more, I wouldn’t have been opining. I would, however, be questioning the level of bias in a report issued by such a state-owned organization, and whether it is worth 25 minutes of my time. When I deemed that it wasn’t, I should have simply hit the “Back” button.

Again, I violated my own policy commenting here. I don’t comment on thoroughbreds when I visit the HuffPo, and I don’t come to DT to talk politics. Hell, if anything I come here to escape politics. I have never seen a political thread, here or elsewhere, wherein Poster A convinced Poster B of the invalidity or flawed logic of his position. But by all means, continue without me. I have bets to place, money to lose, carrots to dispense.

Cheers!

No, from your previous posts here.

Al Jazeera English, which, when you watch the entirety of something like what I just posted, objectively shows an investigative journalism into both sides of the issue, revealing fact without offering an opinion, that is severely lacking in much other US and European media.

But you've already dismissed it out of hand, assuming a particular view, after only watching 4 minutes of it. Thanks for letting us know that's where you're at.

I've offered no opinion on the piece, either. It's revealing of both sides of an important current issue, which is why I posted the link in the first place.

One can listen to both sides of a debate then form an opinion, or one can form an opinion, and refuse anything that contradicts it. I think the latter is a lethal problem now in the US, on both sides. That's why I posted the piece. It is far more objective journalism than I've seen from any other media lately on this issue.

But it's longer than a few minutes, so it requires a conscious effort to pay attention to something other than a superficial short sound bite (and no, that was not directed at you, it's a general statement regarding the piece)
