Anyone hear what happened to him after the race? Johnny V dismounted and took the saddle off near what looked like the middle of the first turn and didn't make it back to the winner circle.

The day wasn’t all pleasant for the team, however. In Saturday’s second race, Repole and Pletcher sent out the good-looking 2-year-old Giant Surprise to break his maiden at first asking. But while galloping out, jockey Johnny Velazquez felt the colt was uncomfortable, pulled him up and called for the ambulance rather than returning to the winner’s circle. The colt was taken back to the barn and found to have a fractured foreleg that isn’t life-threatening. The disappointment was still weighing heavily on Repole even as he headed to the paddock for the Jim Dandy.
