Did Mildly Offensive end up running at Hollywood this whole meet?
After her two monster wins at Santa Anita, there was talk of races like the Acorn, Eight Belles, Prioress, etc. If she does well this weekend, I hope they wheel back in the Test. |

She ran in the Manhattan Beach on turf and fared poorly. She's been campaigned with no confidence it would seem.

She had a big reputation at Santa Anita. Pretty sure she got a hefty Beyer at least for the maiden win. |

Another talented horse about to get buried by synthetic surfaces. Didn't anyone learn anything from Nicole H?

The irony being that it has all-weather racing surfaces. |

If the race was at Del Mar I would agree with you but dirt form does hold up well at Hollywood. Distance and company is more of an issue with her then surface in this instance.

Do you have any stats to back this up? I hear this notion a lot, but I've yet to see any hard evidence behind it.

I don't like her running style, but Love Theway Youare has some interesting turf breeding, being by Arch out of a Tabasco Cat mare. While not the greatest sire in the world, Tabasco Cat's progeny seem to do well on turf.
Furthermore, the 3rd dam is the great turf mare Sabin. |

By the way, are you going to change your avatar, or are you waiting for Godolphin to win with something in this country, too?

Not a chance, he could get Twirling Candy to go 10 furlongs.

How about Tanda in the A Gleam?

Her campaign has been awfully odd. I really liked her as a 3YO and was waiting for her to come back this year. Instead of the Las Flores on dirt, Hendricks went with the downhill race. That Milady was a disaster from the start, then she just got a little tired last time.
I like her on Saturday because she has enough speed to stay close and there's not a lot of pace in there at all. Her darkened form should help get a decent price too. |

Like you say, though, Tanda has been campaigned oddly. It's kind of surprising they wheeled her back two weeks after the Milady to run in a turf race. They ran the Desert Stormer, 6f on the main track, two weeks after that. Seemed like the perfect race to "reboot" for the A Gleam and the rest of the season. |
