![]() Facing a younger, quicker and better-serving opponent, Federer failed to make his big lead stand up and lost 3-6, 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to 12th-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in the quarterfinals. Federer leaves Wimbledon in that round for the second consecutive year, after reaching seven finals in a row from 2003-09.

![]() The rest of the field has obviously caught and passed Fed. Tsonga wasn't threatened on his serve in the last 24 games. That doesn't happen two years ago. This is good for men's tennis. As great as it is to see the top four in the semis all the time, it's nice to know that there are players outside of that subset who can jump up and win a tourney from time to time (Tsonga, Berdych, delPo).
Bernard Tomic and Milos Raonic are scary going forward. I hope Djokovic wins the next two majors though, he's been the best player all year except for one match on four days' rest. |

![]() I don't think it's his skill-set deteriorating. He's lost the hunger and that's to be expected.
Dude has nothing to prove. I repeat...nothing to prove. |

![]() I don't know. His reaction after beating Djokovic in the semis at the French says otherwise.

![]() Yeah no doubt he stepped up his game in that match but I'm more inclined to think that the mental lapses Djokovic had were the deciding factor.
