IC, I understood what you meant. No harm and I agree. It's not as if he even had a fair chance in the Belmont after the beginning.

It's never a good thing to lose the Derby winner for the 2nd half of the year, especially when they have potential. However, I think the Dwyer will go a long way towards letting us know who's waiting in the wings.

How likely is it that all 3 of our classic winners this year return in 2012? Only time will tell, but they seem to feel Animal Kingdom will recover fully if they're aiming for the World Cup. I assume there's no rush to retire Ruler on Ice as a 3yo gelding. Have Shackleford's connections commented on his prospects for a 4yo season?
