Just talked to Gary. Not so bad off 60 days. Lloyd came back well and was feeling good. Steadied at start but ran pretty well thereafter including a smooth, on time lead change. That's a positive as it indicates he isn't in any discomfort. Having lost a lot of his early zip from the hind end injury, Gary is leaning towards stretching out. Something was amiss internally with him about a month ago, when we scratched, and he seems to have gotten through it. Also just looked at the chart and he was really the only horse to make up ground. Should run back end of Belmont or early at Saratoga.

Stopped off at the barn after the race, Lloyd seemed to cool out nicely. He also managed to pull off his front left shoe during race, my guess is it happened when he had to take up sharply.
As always, thanks to Gary, Paul, Steve and Chuck! |
