Maybe years from now you'll be standing in the winner's circle of a BC race and you can silently dedicate your glorious win to her. I know the holes in your hearts will always remain and for that I'm profoundly sorry. Thank you for sharing your beautiful girl with us... on the track, in memories, with the eloquent and heartbreaking news. Some of us consider ourselves to be more cappers than fans and vice versa and so just the fact that the people who are verbal on this thread cross and blur all those sometimes obvious lines around here? What that really means is that your horse was one of the rare ones that we can agree on. She defined heart. Not only is that the supreme complement... it's a reflection on you and how she was handled. I have no right to speak for all of us here but I think it's probably okay this time. All of you are in our thoughts and we will never forget Meese Rocks. |

![]() Meese Rocks was a tough and determined mare who tried every time. I'm sure her people did everything that they could for her and will miss her very much. (I know she beat me a time or two, but also won for me.)
RIP Meese Rocks Thank you too to the Terranova Stable for posting about her. So many times horses just "disappear" and fans are left wondering (and often worrying) about what happened to them. No one likes to post such sad news but it does give fans of a horse a bit more understanding about the horse and it's nice to know that owners and handlers care as much as they do. I just lost my boy, Monroe (avatar) to colic on Preakness day so I fully sympathize.

![]() Linny, so very sorry to hear about your boy Monroe. Very sad news indeed. I wish I had some magic words to make you feel better but we both know those words don't exist. Just know I'm thinking about you and Monroe. I was not aware of Meese Rocks but clearly she was such a very special mare. My heart goes out to everyone involved with, and close to this very special mare. Sad news all around. |

![]() I suspect he may be up there bucking off Man O'War's exercise rider. He had one heck of a leap. He liked to jump, maybe he's trying 'chasing?
Thank you for the condolences. I still can't believe he's gone. I haven't had the heart to bring my tack box home.
