EHV is very bad stuff. Isolation and vaccination are required.
For those that don't know about its various forms and consequences, here's a link that is informative.

No, it's definitely not, DTS...

With that said, our horses were vaccinated probably 3 times a year against EHV, but that doesn't guarantee immunity against it...

That's a good way to try to protect them. I'm not a virologist but it seems to me that EHV mutates like the flu.
Read that article. It talks about EHV-1 and 4.
Many people don't realize all the problems that horses are vulnerable to.
West Nile, coggins, worms...geesh, the list is endless.

wayne i know you know this but for those who don't...coggins is not a disease it's the name of the guy who came up with the test for EIA
