Default Last At Hollywood - Man In Gate When Race Goes Off

The 13 horse, look at the replay. Amazing. Horse not in gate yet, but man is.

Default Gives new meaning to "left at the gate"

Er, I don't know that the filly was the one unprepared for the start of that race.

They aren't use to having 13 horses in a race at Hollywood.

I believe the # 12 should have been a non starter as well. I dont feel that either the rider or the asst. starter were prepared either.

I bet the #13, Chokecherymary. She looked great on the track.

I watched the race live on TV and Chokecherymary never got a call. As soon as the race was over the inquiry sign went up. I thought this was about the #12 who came out of the gate rearing a bit and the jock lost his irons. It was difficult to tell what happened because the last place you're going to look for trouble at this point is behind the starting gate. The announcer never mentioned that the horse was left at the gate. I don't think anyone knew what was going on during the race other than the people behind the gate and the stewards.

When the inquiry was announced they showed the replay head on. When the gates opened, there's the poor guy standing in the gate while Chantal on the #13 is just behind the gate turning the horse around trying to quiet her down, I'm sure. Darnedest thing I've seen lately.

From what I could see, Chantal and her horse never made it into the gate.

How come they did not adjust the Pick 4 payoffs since the #13 was treated exactly as a late scratch?

Today #6 Entabeni was a late scratch in the last and the Pick 4 payoffs were adjusted.

Why 2 different scenarios?

Lucky he wasn't run over. Who was the starter?

As the field passed the quarter pole the announcer said. " I haven't seen Chokecherrymary. Perhaps something happened at the gate" Race replays are available free at calracing.com

That was mighty astute of the announcer.
